Tour was an hour long it costs $28 an adult with discounts for concession holders. It takes you through the goal with our guide highlighting the history in a very animated way. We thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely grab a coffee afterwards in the airstream caravan on site!

Fantastic tour and lots of history and interesting stories about both the inmates and how the Gaol was built and operated, but also insight into the industry of the town etc. Kids (8 and 10) were listening to every word and enjoyed it as well. Guide (Cleve? - sorry mate, you did say we would forget your name 😐) was great at engaging with everyone on the tour. Thank you team!

When buying a ticket, I recommend doing the tour. It doesn't cost any more and the guide is very informative, a great experience to learn more on the lives of the prisoner's life. A coffee van is there while you wait...

Tour was OK. It was a very small prison compared to some of the others we had toured. Not much time to look around. You get shoved out so they can start the next tour.

The gaol was not open for tours when I was there. It is an amazing part of our history. Such a beautiful structure. Very eerie.

Our guide Graham was fantastic and shared the history of the gaol over the 1 hour tour with lots of great humour and stories. Definitely check it out!

We joined a midday tour, had a really great guide who outlined the history on the Gaol and its life. The quirks of having a gaol that had to grow from the 1800s with bushrangers through to the late 1900s. If your in Beechworth it's worth a visit
